BC Vaccine Card is the Only Valid Proof of Vaccination for BC Residents

Effective September 27th, the BC Vaccine Card is the only acceptable proof of vaccination for British Columbians to enter certain businesses and recreational events.

The transition period, which allowed people to present their paper record of immunization received at the time of their vaccination appointment has ended.

People can get their BC Vaccine Card online and keep a digital copy on their mobile device by taking a screen shot or saving the digital copy to the device's photo album or downloads folder. Alternatively, people can print a hard copy to present when entering designated businesses and events.

Verifying out-of-province proof of vaccination

You may have people who aren't from B.C. accessing your events, services and businesses. They must follow the same requirements and provide proof of vaccination and ID. Follow the same two steps, verify proof of vaccination and review ID for a name match.

People from other provinces or territories must show:

  1. Provincial/territorial officially recognized vaccine record
  2. Valid government photo ID

International visitors must show:

  1. Proof of vaccination they used to enter Canada
  2. Valid government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s licence or passport)

For more details, visit the Government of British Columbia website.
