- On October 29th, Dr. Bonnie Henry extended the mask mandate requiring all British Columbians aged 5 and older to wear their masks in indoor public spaces. This order has been extended indefinitely. For more details and to read the updated Public Health Order, click here.
- Effective on November 30, 2021, international flights carrying passengers will be permitted to land at the following additional Canadian airports:
- John’s International
- John C. Munro Hamilton International
- Region of Waterloo International
- Regina International
- Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International
- Kelowna International
- Abbotsford International
- Victoria International
These airports, in cooperation with the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency and Transport Canada, are working to implement the measures necessary to start safely welcoming international passengers as of November 30.

Winter is around the corner, and we want you to be involved in Destination Vancouver's #LoveVancouver holiday theme!
The winter campaign will continue promoting Vancouver to domestic BC, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec audiences, as well as into Washington State, in alignment with Destination BC and their city-focused promotion called Head North.
We invite our attraction, event, sport, hotel, culinary, wellness, and arts & culture members to share new or updated special offers for this promotion, by emailing our Marketing Specialist. These are featured among the campaign landing pages of Special Offers on Hotels, Attractions and Shopping.
When submitting a new or updated offer, please provide:
- Offer name
- One-sentence offer description
- Photo
- URL
- Offer expiration date (if applicable)
If you have Winter-themed or Holiday and Christmas-specific product or experiences, please send that information as well. And do please continue to submit Fall-themed product and experiences.
Please also ensure your member listings are up-to-date, including the COVID-19 Amenity updates (via the Member Extranet).

Tourism and Hospitality Student Work Placement Program
The latest addition to the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program, Propel offers post-secondary students opportunities to develop the work-ready skills required to secure meaningful employment upon graduation. Qualifying employers are provided with a wage subsidy of up to $7,500 for each student hired through the program (from June 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022).

This event’s goal is to expose both students and young professionals, who are new to the industry, the opportunity to learn about what associations in the hospitality industry have to offer. This is a joint initiative hosted by CAEM, CSAE, IAEE, MPI, PCMA & SITE. Owen Chiu will be presenting on behalf of Destination Vancouver.

Destination Canada Business Events Advisory Committee November 24-25, 2021 In-Person, Toronto Destination Vancouver is an active member of this national Committee providing valuable direction, guidance and industry perspective in order to help inform Destination Canada leadership. The Business Events team within Destination Canada has done a tremendous job demonstrating relevance, support and value over the past 18 very challenging months. The Committee has remained very active since the pandemic began. This will be the first live, in-person meeting since March of 2020. Dave Gazley represents Vancouver on the Committee.
